It is important to note that pain (sometimes referred to as growing pain) in children’s feet or ankle is never normal and should be taken seriously. If your child complains of pain that lasts more than a few days, or that is severe enough to change the way they walk, we recommend you see a podiatrist.

From birth, until 6-8 years of age, through to the teenage years, there are numerous changes in a child’s skeletal alignment and joint mobility. There are many lower limb problems during adulthood which originate from untreated problems during childhood or teenage years. Some of these problems can be managed significantly better, reduced or even prevented if treated appropriately and early on in life.
