What is a Medical Pedicure?
A medical pedicure – or medi pedi – is essentially a deep clean and health check-up for your feet. It is performed by a qualified podiatrist in a hygienic setting, so you know your feet are receiving expert care. In addition to receiving thorough skin and nail treatment, we can help diagnose any foot issues and recommend treatment options.
Our Clinic Medi Pedi services ensure safe, sterile, and hygienic treatments performed in a clinical setting. Our podiatrists use medical-grade instruments, providing tailored care to keep your feet in optimal condition.

Why Choose a Medical Pedicure?
– A medi pedi is performed in the comfort of a private room using medical grade tools, such as scalpel blades for thick callus removal which beauty salons cannot legally use.
– Unlike nail salons, podiatrists are strictly regulated on hygiene and must ensure that all equipment used are 100% medically sterilised to uphold the highest standards of cleanliness. This helps to avoid the risk of fungal and bacterial infections.
– You will be seen by an expert in foot health that can offer advice and education, tailored to your specific needs.
– Because medi pedis are offered as a podiatry service, you can receive a private health fund rebate depending on your eligibility.
The cost of a Clinic Medi Pedi may vary based on individual requirements. A full cost breakdown will be provided before commencing any treatment.
Many private health insurance funds cover podiatric treatments, including medical pedicures. The level of rebate depends on your fund and level of cover. Our administration staff can assist with health insurance claims to help you maximize your benefits.
What can you expect?
– Initial assessment: We start with an assessment of your feet and toenails to diagnose any issues and offer advice on treatment options.
– Callus reduction: Expect a thorough cleanse of your feet using a medical grade scalpel for thick skin/callus/corn removal and smoothing of your skin with an electrical buffing disc.
– Nail care: Your nails will be trimmed, buffed and shaped and cuticles cleaned. Having nails treated by a podiatrist helps to avoid common problems like ingrown nails.
– Magnesium oil massage: Finish off your treatment with a magnesium oil massage and hot towel wrap for smooth and relaxed feet.
– Hydration: We apply medical grade moisturisers, Bondi MediPedi Nail and Cuticle Serum and hydrating Foot and Leg Cream. Bondi MediPedi products are Australian Made and Owned and formulated by a podiatrist using quality ingredients and essential oil .
What we don’t do and why
Water baths: footbaths can harbor fungi and bacteria that can transfer from one patient’s feet to the next. The most hygienic pedicure is a dry one. Podiatrists use medical grade tools that are highly effective and do not require your skin to be softened.
– Cutting cuticles: The cuticle plays a vital role in sealing the space between your nail and skin. This helps prevent the entry of bacteria and fungi that could increase your risk of infection.
– Nail polish: Nail polish that is shared amongst patients can lead to infection. If you are keen on applying nail polish we recommend you choose a high quality non-toxic brand and apply it at home. Alternatively, you may wish to take your own nail polish to a reputable nail salon for application.
